Guassin has announced plans to set up an assembly site for batteries, hydrogen systems and driverless vehicles in the new Qatar Free Zone.
The trailers are for the new Container Terminal 2 (CTS) at Hamad. This terminal is slated to open in 2022 and will have an eventual capacity of 2.5M TEU.
In addition to supplying trailers Gaussin announced plans to establish an assembly site and Centre of Excellence in the new Regional Free Zone of Qatar (QFZA) for batteries, hydrogen and autonomous vehicles. These facilities will focus on solutions for ports, airports, logistics and people mobility applications.
“By having an industrial facility in the Qatar Free Zone, the Gaussin Group will have easier access to the local and regional market and allow it to optimise its logistics chain as part of its strong development in the Gulf,” Gaussin said.
